Mull
The Mull is attached to strengthen the back of the book, after the drawing tape. The mull stabilises the spine and helps the book block attach to the book cover. We supply the gauze in various fabric settings (thread counts and stiffnesses) and single- or multi-thread quality that is equally suitable for use on the book line and for manual processing.
Shirting
A high-quality, starch-impregnated linen, especially for heavier books. Available in various colours and qualities and standard roll length: 50 m x 100 cm.
Paper Lined Mull
The perfect material combination of cotton and paper, with which the spine reinforcement is attached to the book block with fabric. Hinge fabric is an alternative to crepe paper and is used to stabilise the binding of straight and round book blocks. The direct connection of the fabric to the adhesive of the spine achieves optimum stability and a perfect hinge between book block and book cover. We offer paper lined mull with different weaves that can be processed as wide or narrow rolls.
